Inspired by ancient symbolism

Here on the Web of Wyrd official site, you will find offerings created with connection and presence, born from interaction with nature, and released into the world with a desire to share the joy I have experienced in making them. You’ll also find exclusive prices and one-of-a-kind pieces that are not available in my Etsy or Instagram stores.

Presence

Every item is hand made with intention at every step.
The full journey is represented in the final outcome.

CONNECTION

Each offering is released into the world with a hope to share the joy I have experienced in creating it.

Interaction with Nature

My offerings are inspired by and derived from nature.
My techniques aim to represent and enhance this connection.

Ethical Materials

My materials are sourced with my ethics in mind.
I use found, recycled, fairly traded, and ethically sourced materials.

FAQs

The majority are found in nature; some are gifted to me by friends who handle animals (eg vets/farmers); a select few are bought from ethical sources.

Both bones and feathers go through a cleaning process to ensure they are suitable for wearing.

Electroforming is a process where copper is ‘grown’ or ‘formed’ on the prepared jewellery.

By passing a current from a source piece of copper, through a solution, to the destination jewellery, the particles of copper detach one by one from the source and attach themselves on the destination jewellery piece. Over time (up to three days) they form a thick solid structure of pure copper.

I use various elements as the base of this forming. Real twigs, bones, feathers, leaves, and other natural items (or occasionally sculpted clay) provide the structural shape for the copper to form on; pieces of nature immortalised forever in copper.

My copper jewellery has an intentional patina which provides its unique dark colour. Do not clean it with tarnish remover or acidic treatments (lemon, ketchup, vinegar, etc.) or the patina may be removed. Over time the colour may naturally darken, or the patina may wear down.
The best way to slow this is to keep copper jewellery protected, clean and dry:
✓ Store in a cool, dry place – ideally in a sealed bag.
✓Remove before sleeping, washing, bathing, or swimming (especially in chlorinated or salt water.)
✓ Wipe with a soft cloth to remove your natural body oils from the surface before storage.
✓ Avoid wearing lotion, sunscreen, makeup, or perfume on areas of your body that will come in contact with your jewellery.
